A phone charger suddenly stops charging. The lamp goes dark. Then you notice the outlet across the room is dead too. Why do outlets stop working when everything seemed fine yesterday? Backstab connections, where a wire is pushed into a small opening on the rear of an outlet, can also loosen over time.
